A 100% pass rate was attained for the 23rd year in succession. 99% of the class of 2016 achieved marks that allow them to progress to tertiary education and 94% obtained admission to a bachelor’s degree. A total of 137 distinctions were obtained overall and 54 girls achieved an average of above 70%.
“Many of the girls did very well and we are very proud of the results which the 175 matriculants achieved this year. We wish them every success in their future endeavours” said Miss Dina Gonçalves, Headmistress.
Our top performer with 10 distinctions was Thirasha Waidyaratne. She was the 2016 Head Girl and a Ruth First scholar. She obtained distinctions in English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Physical Science, Life Orientation, Design, Geography, History, Advanced Programme English and Advanced Programme Maths. She is the first learner we have had who has achieved distinctions in both Advanced Programme subjects. We are extremely proud of you Thirasha!
Firdous Hamid and Tasmiyah Laher were awarded 8 distinctions each.
Firdous Hamid received distinctions in English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Accounting, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Life Orientation and Advanced Programme English.
Tasmiyah Laher received distinctions in English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Accounting, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Life Orientation and Advanced Programme Maths.
6 distinctions were achieved by Naseeha Laher in Afrikaans, Mathematics, Life Orientation, Accounting, Life Sciences and Physical Sciences.
5 distinctions went to Zuhaira Ali, Prianka Kara, Woniso Mazonde, Tehillah Snyman and Erin van Wyk.
4 distinctions went to Sumaiya Shaik and Shezaan Shaikjee.
3 distinctions went to Savannah Aysen, Susana De Abreu, Michele Dos Santos, Vaisshnavi Harrichund, Sinead Hovelmeier, Makumya M’Membe, Sasha Lee Morare, Jenna Orchard, Lizan Potgieter and Kamogelo Radebe.
2 distinctions went to Zakiyyah Abdulla, Hazel Chieza, Kyanna Claro, Katlego Matshwane, Nicole Mychajluk and Bongiwe Nkabinde.
