Jeppe Girls Pedestrian Bridge

For decades Jeppe Girls have been crossing the busy Roberts Avenue in order to access the sports field for sporting activities and physical education. The road is classed as one of the busiest roads in Kensington thus putting all our learners and their teachers at risk. We have already experienced a few “near misses” of girls being run over by speeding cars who ignore the scholar patrol.
We urgently need to curb this problem by building a bridge leading from the school to the sports field to ensure the learners’ safety.

By building the bridge, Jeppe High School for Girls will ensure the safety of both motorists and learners; will reduce the traffic congestion at peak times and reduce the time taken crossing the road for sports activities.
The cost of constructing the bridge is approximately R4,500,000 in today’s terms. If you would like to make a donation towards this bridge or if would like to discuss sponsorship of the bridge, please contact Mrs Sam Atrash (Fundraiser Jeppe Schools Trust) on 082 447 0989 or on sam@jeppetrust.co.za
