At our first assembly following the exams, we were honoured to welcome Mr. Madzadzi from Masiqhakaze Secondary School, who delivered an inspiring and memorable message to our learners. With wisdom and warmth, he shared the powerful S.U.C.C.E.S.S. formula, a guide to achieving both personal and academic excellence.To strive for success, Mr. Madzadzi encouraged us to embrace the following principles:• S – Solve problems with a positive attitude• U– Unleash your unlimited potential• C – Cultivate creativity in all aspects of your life• C – Care for others and practice empathy• E – Exude energy and enthusiasm in everything you do• S – Share your experiences and knowledge generously• S – Sacrifice when necessary to reach your goalsHis message served as a powerful reminder that success is not only about achievement, but also about attitude, compassion, and purpose. What an exciting experience for two of our music t

What an exciting experience for two of our music teachers to take part in the World Symphony Series with the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra at the Linder Auditorium last night. The programme included magnificent works by Beethoven and was conducted by world-renowned South African conductor – Conrad van Alphen. With Beethoven’s 6th symphony being a prescribed work for Grade 12, it was an inspiring opportunity to enhance their musical knowledge and appreciation. Our Grade 12 learners were fortunate enough to attend the final rehearsal in the morning, and some Grade 11 learners attended the concert in the evening.

Although World Environment Day was observed yesterday, 5 June 2025, under the global theme "Beat Plastic Pollution," the need for action continues every day.

Organisations like WESSA, Greenpeace, and UNEP have emphasised the urgent issue of plastic waste and its harmful effects on our environment, ecosystems, and health.

At Jeppe High School for Girls, a proud Eco-School (Platinum 2, Year 7), we remain committed to environmental responsibility beyond just one day.

Through initiatives like our #NoBalloons Policy, Plastic Bottle Tops and Bread Tag Collections, Eco-Bricks, and our ongoing #AntiLitterCampaign, we encourage the entire Jeppe Community to reduce waste, especially plastic, and adopt sustainable waste management practices. This past Sunday, our very own Ms Fabricius and Dr Harmer completed a 60km training ride in preparation for their Trap de Val 100 Miler mountain bike ride on 31 May. This 162km race will commence in Gauteng and end at the Val Hotel in Mpumalanga. We are so proud to have these two athletes wear the Jeppe colours as they ride in support of the Teddy Bear Foundation. Jeppe Gold indeed.

On Tuesday, we had the pleasure of hosting our French Exchange learners from @oyorugbyclasse.

Despite a short visit, they were thoroughly immersed in the Jeppe Spirit! Our girls electrified the hall with their war cries, while our drama students showcased their talents with a sneak peek of Matilda the Musical.

Fallyn Lawrence added to the magic with beautiful saxophone melodies. The visitors also enjoyed attending various classes, from Geography to Mathematics.

We're grateful for the opportunity to welcome these special guests and share our Jeppe community with them.

Yesterday's assembly was a heartwarming reminder of the kindness that still exists in the world.

We were privileged to host Door of Hope, a remarkable organization that has been making a difference for 25 years. Currently caring for 62 precious children and babies, Door of Hope provides a safe haven for those who've been abandoned or rejected by their birth parents.

Our girls, along with our French exchange students from @oyorugbyclasse , showed incredible compassion by donating blankets, beanies, baby cardigans, and warm winter clothes for the little ones. It's wonderful to see @doorofhopesa 's dedication to spreading kindness and giving back to the community.

On the 25th - 27th April, Ms Trumble and Ms Keegan

On the 25th - 27th April, Ms Trumble and Ms Keegan took 19 art & design girls from G11 and G12 to Zwartkloof Adventure Camp for an intensive art skills development camp.

They learnt about a new charcoal tonal technique with Ms Keegan and got to make clay animal heads with Ms Trumble. One of the highlights was that the programme director arranged for us to have 2 hours to sketch the predators in their separate park. It was a first for the camp and for the students getting to sketch a living, moving animal like the tigers, leopards, lions, wolves, African dogs and hyenas.

There was also fun activities like the bum slides, stargazing, campfire songs and a mud warrior course intermingled throughout the weekend. We also celebrated the Matrics' collective 18th birthdays with a lovely cake made specially for our group.
