Many Gauteng schools will be showcasing their projects to a panel of expert judges. This is the final stage to qualify for the International Science Fair (ISF), a prestigious platform where learners across South Africa, as well as international participants, compete at the highest level. Run for a Cause: Every Step Makes a Difference

This year’s Run for a Cause is more than just a school event it’s a powerful opportunity to give with purpose. We’re proud to be supporting four phenomenal organizations whose work touches lives every day: Door of Hope, The Edenvale SPCA, The Pink Drive and GBV.

Their excitement to be part of the day is contagious, and our learners will have the chance to contribute in meaningful, hands-on ways by donating essential items, supporting their stalls, and engaging with their stories.

We’ve also created GivenGain pages for both Door of Hope and The Pink Drive, making it easier than ever for our wider community to give directly and transparently. Whether it’s a week’s worth of tuckshop money from a student, or a generous family donation every rand counts.

Let’s show these organisations the strength and heart of our Jeppe community. Let’s run, give, and change lives together.

Last Sunday the orchestra performed at the CCNF Prestige Concert Series at the Linder Auditorium. The orchestra was personally invited to take part in the concert which showcased youth orchestras from around Gauteng. The orchestra performed 3 pieces; Theme from Jurassic Park, Flowers of the nation and Magigwana wa ka Khosa.
Morgan Charles (Grade 12) further represented Jeppe by playing in two of the other orchestras at the concert; the JHB Intermediate Youth Orchestra and the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra.

At Today's assembly Onthatile Molobi graced us with her stunning ballet performance.

Recently, she had the honour of representing Mzansi Ballet in Lugano, Switzerland, at the Mzansi Ballet & Ticino Sound Festival (June 29th - July 10th).

During the festival, she showcased her talent in two notable pieces: a group performance in 'Golden Rhino of Mapungubwe' and a solo performance in 'Blue Bird', which she beautifully replicated for us today.

On 27 June, we gathered to celebrate and honour Mr

On 27 June, we gathered to celebrate and honour Mr Rob Aitchison , a man whose dedication, vision, and passion have left an enduring mark on our school community.

Mr Aitchison has played a key role in numerous transformative projects at Jeppe, including the development of the Media/STEM Centre, the opening of Somerset House (our boarding facility), the installation of solar panels, and many other initiatives that have advanced the school’s infrastructure and innovation. He has been a driving force behind these achievements, always championing progress with unwavering commitment.

Having first joined the Jeppe family as a parent, Mr Aitchison became an active member of the Parents’ Association (PA), contributing meaningfully to school events such as the Matric Dance, MA Dance, and other community-building activities. The PA is now led by his sister, Mrs Michelle Smith, who continues the family’s legacy of service.

In recognition of his extraordinary contributions, Mr Aitchison was honoured with a commemorative bench and plaque engraved with the name "Aitchison" , a lasting tribute to a name that has become synonymous with dedication and generosity at Jeppe.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr Aitchison and the Aitchison family for their years of support, love, and unwavering commitment. Their impact will continue to be felt for generations to come.

Equipped with cutting-edge resources and offering dynamic programmes such as coding and robotics, the centre signals the beginning of the Jeppe digital era. It stands as a testament to our commitment to preparing learners for the demands of a rapidly evolving world.

Led by Mrs Van der Merwe, our dedicated IT teacher, and her capable team, the centre will serve as a vibrant hub of digital exploration and discovery. From the start of Term 3, learners will gain full access to this pioneering facility, where they will be empowered to explore, design, code, and create.

More than just a facility, this centre represents a vision, one that champions inclusion, nurtures innovation, and inspires a future where young women take their place in the world of STEM and technology.

To mark Youth Month in a fun and nostalgic way, our amazing teachers stepped back in time proudly donning their very own school uniforms. They hosted a vibrant Cake & Candy Sale, showing our learners how it's done. From sweet stacks of pancakes to savoury snacks, hearty soups and spicy samoosa's, our learners were absolutely spoiled for choice with a delicious spread that had something for every craving.
