The Jeppe Girls Senior and Junior soccer teams reached the Janine Van Wyk League Semi-Finals by virtue of their performance throughout the season.
Although the u15 team out-played Edenvale High School in their semi final, sport can be cruel, and the two visits by the opposition into our half led to goals for Edenvale. Jeppe played some excellent passing-soccer and kept possession but simply couldn’t get the ball past the Edenvale goalkeeper. Although a disappointing end to our season, the girls acquitted themselves admirably from start to close of the season and will be even better next year.
The Senior team had a tough encounter against a very strong Vorentoe High School. Our team battled to contain their individual stars and although Jeppe created opportunities in the first half, Vorentoe managed to take a 2-0 advantage into half time. Despite a good fight-back from Jeppe towards the end of the match, Vorentoe scored a third goal before the end of the match.
Mr Lincoln congratulated the girls for a promising season.
